Reducing agent

A reagent capable of performing a reduction, which for our purposes is typically formation of a C-H bond with accompanying breakage of a C-O, C–N, or C–C bond. Examples of reducing agents include sodium borohydride (NaBH4), lithium aluminum hydride (LiAlH4), di-isobutylalumum hydride (DIBAL) and many others.
